A Few More Quilts

I have made a few more quilts since my last posting...in 2016, I finished 16, 12 in 2017, and 8-so far-in 2018.

This one is from 2015, though. DM was retiring from the Air Force after serving thirty years. Timing is everything, right? His retirement was taking place on our thirtieth wedding anniversary. Oy!!! So glad we could help him and V to celebrate such an ocassion, and they did give us plenty of notice. Hawaii can happen another year.

I asked both D and V if they wanted people to be able to sign it. Yep! But not on the front. Sew, I made a “second” quilt for the back. They LOVED it!!!

Another success story! They sent me a pic of the quilt in action! It goes on all their trips with them  around the US, in their retirement “home”, their RV. How awesome is that?!?

The Texas Quilt

The colored columns are actually leftovers from another quilt. This went to RH as a gift for her momma.

Pink and brown Mousetrap

AH is a little princess and this was for her third birthday.

Bonnie Hunter’s Grand Illusion. I made two quilts from the 25 blocks...one for hubby and one for his buddy at work who admired the first one.

Until next time! Take care of You!!!

Purple Mountains Majesty

My friend, Maria, was moving into her new home.  What better gift than something to keep her warm?  Purple is her favorite color and the pattern is Rancher's Daughters by Debbie Caffrey.  Being the rebel that I am, I made a little change...it is bigger than the original pattern.

The blocks are starting to come together.

Adding a few mountains around the stars.

Now to add a few stitches to keep the layers together.

The final product on Maria's bed.

It is keeping her warm lately, since the weather has turned cold these last few weeks.  Here's hoping it keeps her warm for many more years to come, and makes her feel wrapped with my love!

A Success Story

This is a quilt I made for my Momma.  It is one of the last two I had quilted by someone else (Kay S in Seguin, TX) before hubby got me my very own longarm machine...a Babylock Crown Jewel on a 10' Majestic frame.  I think she did a beautiful job, don't you?

These two corners were quilted with the same motif.  They are not the same size.

The teacher for the class was Sherry L, in Columbia, SC.  Momma was visiting and we took a trip into Columbia.  Of course, we had to go by the LQS!  She saw the class sample and quipped, "You could make that one for me!"  Oh, sure!!!  It took me over two years just to get the top done.  I wanted Sherry L to quilt it for me, but life happened and she sent it back to me, more than two years later.  I found Kay S, and I was finally able to present the quilt to Momma.  I think she likes it...it has only been off her bed for an occasional bath since it arrived in her house!  A success story!  My measure for "success"?  It is being used!

My first post on my first blog!

Hello, all!  This is my first entry in my first blog.  I am told, by many people I love, that I need someplace to show the work I have created...so I have created this page.  Over the next few weeks, and as soon as I figure out how, I will be working on getting pictures, of everything I have pictures of, posted up on this page.  Remember, it's quilts AND crafts, so there will be more than just quilts.  Love to everyone!
Black and White and Red, disappearing nine-patch.  This one is not finished.  It is going to get one more border, than I need to decide on something for the back.  Something surprising!!!
Conner's Sock Monkeys...already given.

Tawnee's Bohemian Quilt...already given.
